Stoke Mandeville Stags Navy suffered a late defeat as a new phase of competitive fixtures got underway at Prestwood Panthers Colts.
In an evenly-matched game, the Stags took an early lead when Junior Makombe finished neatly inside the home team's box. Panthers then replied before Junior once again put his team-mates ahead just before half time, this time from the edge of the box.
Stags started the second half strongly and raced into what seemed an uncatchable 3-1 lead, thanks to a tidy finish from midfielder Leo Sergiou.
However, Prestwood piled on the pressure in the closing stages to draw level with two quick-fire goals – despite the heroic efforts of Stags goalkeeper Rowan Sadie who kept out various other goal-bound attempts.
Then, right at the death, the home team capitalised on some hesitation within the Stags' penalty box to rifle home what proved to be the winning goal with only five minutes left to run.
POTM: Liv Walker – played in a different position after every substitute rotation and didn't put a foot wrong with some tenacious tackling and excellent distribution.
